Riding your bike is one of the things you look forward to most. When it doesn't feel right — or when it's sitting in a workshop queue for two weeks — that matters.

My name's Nick, and with the help of my son Harry, I built South Oxon Cycleworks to fix that.

I've been obsessed with bikes for over 30 years. It started when I got my first proper bike — a Falcon Black Diamond — in the early 80s, and accelerated when I jumped on the mountain bike bandwagon in the early 90s with a pink Raleigh Mustang. Since then I've repaired hundreds of bikes and kept pace with the technology revolution that's transformed the industry — from mechanical groupsets to wireless electronic shifting, from rim brakes and tubulars to hydraulic disc brakes and tubeless, from rigid to full suspension.

I became Cytech-qualified because I wanted to do this properly. Every bike that comes into the workshop gets the same meticulous attention to detail, whether it's a commuter that needs to be reliable or a performance machine that needs to feel exactly right. For me, it's genuinely satisfying to hand a bike back to its owner knowing it's better than when it arrived — and to know they'll enjoy riding it more because of it.

The workshop is set up to make the whole experience as easy as possible: off-street parking, flexible drop-off windows, and a 3-day turnaround target so you're not left without your bike when you want to be riding.

We do the job properly in one visit — no hidden extras, no repeat bookings, no hard sell. Just honest advice and a bike that feels right.

Taking the friction out of your ride.
